There’s something about the new year.

Even though I believe you can set goals anytime - a new moon, a new month, or a random Tuesday afternoon - January still feels like a clean page. A collective deep breath. A quiet moment to ask: Where am I going now?

In a former version of my life, I trained to be a life coach.
It was intense - in a good way. We’d set yearly goals, break them down by quarter, map them to weekly habits, and track progress daily. Every decision had intention. Every action had accountability.

And honestly? It worked.
If you’re trying to shift a lot in a short amount of time, that kind of structure can be powerful.

I still love a good system. I love organizing my thoughts, planning things out, setting intentions. I like structure, when it supports me.

But right now?
In this season of motherhood, gentleness, and coming home to myself...

I need something simpler.
Something quieter.
Something with less pressure and more space.

💡 The Reset Shift: Three Soul-Aligned Goals

These days, I start my year by identifying three things that would genuinely shift my life if they came true.

Not a 10-step action plan. Not a productivity spreadsheet.
Just clarity.

And yes - pen to paper matters.
Not because it’s magic but because it forces you to define what you truly want.

And statistically, your more likely to accomplish them.

So instead of doing more this year, I’m choosing to focus more.
Here’s how I set my three soul-aligned goals:

Try It for Yourself

1. Choose your three soul goals.

Ask yourself:
If these three things happened, would they make this year feel meaningful?

They can be practical, emotional, or spiritual:

  • “Lose 15 pounds.”

  • “Launch my Etsy shop and make my first $1K.”

  • “Speak to myself like someone I love.”

  • “Find the one.”

  • “Let go of needing others’ approval.”

  • “Trust my voice in every room I walk into.”

The key? Make them specific enough that, by year’s end, you can say:
Yes. I did that.

When we’re vague, it’s easy to feel scattered or discouraged.
When we’re clear, we know where to focus our energy.

And if one of your dreams feels tender - like finding love or letting go of an old pattern - know this:

You’re not demanding an outcome. You’re daring to desire.

You’re allowed to dream out loud.
You’re allowed to hope.
You’re allowed to want what you want.

Because the truth is: what we name, we nurture.

2. Brain dump the rest.

Write down everything else you’re hoping for.
The side projects, habits, home upgrades, trips. All of it.

But treat them as nice-to-haves, not pressure points.

Sometimes we don’t burn out from the goal itself - we burn out from trying to carry everything at once.
And we end the year focusing on what didn’t get done instead of celebrating what did.

Let this year be different.
Let it be focused.
Let it be enough.

“Sweater Weather” – The Neighbourhood
For when you’re clearing mental clutter and craving emotional clarity.

📓 Tiny Ritual
Write your 3 goals on a sticky note or index card. Place it where you’ll see it often (your mirror, your journal, your wallet). Revisit it when you feel distracted.

Joy of the Week
Crossing off even one small thing that brings you closer to something big.
(Even if it’s just sending an email.)

You don’t need a 12-month master plan.
Just a little clarity.
A little self-trust.
And three soul-aligned goals to anchor you.

Let this be the year you don’t push harder…but get clearer.
Let it be the year you trust what you want.
Let it be the year you move with intention, not urgency.

See you next week.
And remember — you can always start over.
